What are some of the most clever promotional materials you guys have seen for pr campaigns? At the PR firm that I used to work at, it was often just samples of the product itself, but that's rather boring. Have you ever gotten anything as a promotional material that you either a) ended up using, or b) thought was pretty cool?

Re: Best promotional materials?
Mon, March 20, 2006 - 2:46 PMThis might sound crazy,..but this is the UGLY truth..
The answer to your question is you.
That is the best promotional material...BAR NONE!!!
Whomever tells you that you need to buy some more stuff in order to push the product is LYING to you.
If you believe in your product and know the bullets about it..people will see it in you.
Before anyone is buying anything from you they are buying you first.

Re: Best promotional materials?
Mon, March 20, 2006 - 4:49 PMWell, okay, I agree that it's not necessary to overwhelm with tchotchkes. Ultimately, it is the quality of a company that keeps the customer. However, I still think there is something to be said for a clever campaign and/or campaigning material...even if it's cheap or free. Sometimes that's what it takes for national attention.
But really, I just want to hear some clever marketing ideas of times past.

Re: Best promotional materials?
Thu, September 14, 2006 - 9:42 AMI was going to start a new thread, but this one looks like it might cover my question.
I'm in a sketch comedy troupe. We want people to book us into their venues, especially colleges. We're trying to get more traffic to our website ( www.thewaitstaff.com ) and also go to conventions and the like. We're talking about promotional items we can give out. Can't be too expensive. We've discussed bumper stickers, key chains, and frisbees. I like frisbees, but it's a seasonal item. Keychains, I feel are tired and used up. I get more free keychains than I have keys. Any thoughts on an promotional item that's fun, the person will keep long enough to remember to go to our website, and that would be good any time of year.
